My name is Jack Berberette and I’m The Game Hermit!  I can’t thank you enough for stopping by to take a look at our site.

 

A little about me…  I’m an old school gamer through and through.  I was introduced to gaming back in 1981, when my oldest brother came home after serving in the Air Force.  He asked me one day if I’d like to give playing D&D a try…  We didn’t have any books, dice, miniatures or anything…just our imagination.  My brother new the rules for the most part and made up everything else.  Next, we cut up little pieces of cardboard, wrote numbers on them and tossed them into an old coffee can….TADAAA….dice!   From there, entered a world that I had never thought possible.  Bill, my brother, was a master story teller and took my friends and I through our first campaign which lasted about two years.  From being assaulted by giants to piratical airship battles we did it all…and I have been hooked ever since!!!!

 

Eventually we found a hobby shop that carried some TSR products…and my Mom, as a present, bought us the D&D Basic Set.  I’ll never forget my first set of dice!   They were the cheap yellow ones that came with the basic set…some of you might remember having to color the numbers in with crayons.  LOL…I remember tracing pictures form the rule book onto Shrinky Dink paper, then using them as miniatures!

 

So here I am, 30 years later, and still love gaming as much as I did when I was a kid.  My teenage son is one of players and I am bound and determined to make sure he has a great time gaming just like I did…then hopefully, he’ll pass that along to his children.  A good story is entertaining…but one in which you and your friends play the heroes in an incredible adventure is an epic tale that will be forever etched into your memory!
